Vision & Mission Statement

Our Vision is:

Character development with academic excellence.

This has been the governing principle of all endeavours at the college. At every step, big or small, the college is guided by the comprehensive educational philosophy of Sri Sathya Sai Baba who emphatically advocates:

“Education should be for life; not for mere living”.

Mission

The college aims to lay the foundation of a noble character in young minds by instilling in them the eternal and universal values of fraternity, patriotism, sacrifice and moral integrity so that they grow up as ideal leaders who can shape the destiny of the nation and the world.

Our Logo

The logo of the organisation contains the five human values Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-Violence, which are latent in all human beings. These values form the foundation of Sathya Sai Baba’s Education in Human Values program. Also pictured in the logo is a tall pillar, called the sarva dharma (world religions) stupa, with a lotus flower on it. (Literally, sarva means entire, whole, every kind of; and dharma means righteousness, morality, virtue, duty, code of conduct.)

The pillar, with its concentric rings, represents yoga, or Union with God. The rings indicate the stages of yogic discipline required for unfolding the “lotus of the heart”, whose petals are at the top of the pillar. The flame of inner illumination is in the centre of the lotus. Just as the lotus plant lives in water but does not get contaminated by it, so we should live in the world but be untouched by it.

Uniqueness of Sathya Sai College

“Just as two wings are essential for a bird to soar high in the sky,
two wheels for a cart to move, so also two types of education are needed for man to attain the goal of life”
Sathya Sai Baba

In common with all the Sathya Sai Schools around the world, Australia’s Sathya Sai College combines the five Human Values without any compromise of the mainstream syllabus set by the Board of Studies. This “combined education” (also called ‘integral education’) prepares the child both for a rich inner life of joy and harmony with an outer capacity of action.

The child develops a strong sense of personal responsibility grounded in an authentic self that is autonomous and yet strongly connected with the family, community and culture of origin. Such a child is better able to chart individual course through life with a well-developed inner compass. The training of the mind and heart that will make the right choices starts right in the kindergartenl.

The college focuses in bringing out character in children through the integration of human values into the school curriculum. We believe that education should not only promote academic excellence; education needs to incorporate values that promote healthy relationships; a vital component in the life of a child.

We believe that the end product of education is character, the most valuable asset a person can have. In an atmosphere of love and mutual respect, each child is encouraged to excel and aspire to achieve his or her full potential.
