Secondary Curriculum

Sathya Sai College (SSC) is unique in Australia in offering a values-based education in a non-religious setting. The universal human values of Love, Peace, Truth, Right-Conduct and Non-Violence, as identified by Sathya Sai Baba, are integrated into all that we do.

“Character Development with Academic Excellence” is the guiding principle of the school. We endeavour to do all we can to support our students and allow them to achieve their best. We offer STEM enrichment, individualised support, an after-school Homework Hub, lunchtime Assessment Support and a range of co-curricular activities so that all students can experience success and cultivate their interests.

Sathya Sai College is NESA Accredited and offers the NSW curriculum across all year levels. We are also accredited to deliver the RoSA and the HSC in the senior years of schooling, with our first year 12 class graduating in 2021. We are constantly reviewing and expanding our elective offerings in Stage 5 and Stage 6 to cater to student interests, abilities and future goals.

At SSC, values education is integrated across all subject areas and is supported by Education in Human Values (EHV), a weekly class where students have the opportunity to further explore focus values. EHV also provides an opportunity for students to participate in selfless service and develop good study habits. Students develop a close relationship with their EHV teacher, who fulfils a pastoral role, following their class through high school from year 7 to year 12.

Stages 5 & 6

In Stage 5, students have access to a range of 100-hour and 200-hour electives. The electives on offer varies each year and is based on student interest.
Our Stage 6 curriculum is adapted to suit individual student goals, providing HSC, VET and TAFE pathways, including School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships. The courses on offer each year vary with student needs and interests.

VET courses can be accessed through TAFE or another external provider, either in person or via online delivery. Southern Cross School of Distance Education provides students with access to almost the complete suite of Stage 6 subjects, including a range of Beginners and Continuers languages.
