Our school uniform reflects our values. Wearing it correctly promotes peace and harmony, demonstrates love and respect, models truth through integrity, supports non-violence by ensuring safety, and exemplifies right conduct through responsible choices, helping to maintain a positive, respectful, and safe school community.
- Sathya Sai College expects students to wear the school uniform correctly during school hours, while travelling to and from the College, and when participating in College excursions.
- It is expected that students wear their sports uniform on their designated sports and PDHPE timetabled days. Formal uniform is to be worn on ALL other days.
- Sports uniform and formal uniform are NOT to be combined.
- Hats are compulsory during PE and sport lessons, during outdoor activities and at all break times unless under cover. Students have the option to wear the school cap or the school bucket hat.
- Uniform expectations are part of the College’s discipline roadmap. Breaches of the uniform policy will be addressed according to the College’s behaviour and support framework, which may include Time-in, Reflection, or other measures appropriate to the situation.
Secondary Uniform
Allowed:
- Standard watches only. No smartwatches.
- Earrings and piercings:
- Up to two (2) earrings per earlobe only. No other ear piercings.
- Styles must be small and simple: studs or traditional sleepers (round 3mm studs or 10–12mm sleepers). No hoops, dangling pendants or diamontes.
- Clear nose studs are allowed.
- Earrings must be removed for safety when required.
- Rings: One simple gold or silver ring per hand.
- Bracelet: One gold or silver bracelet.
- Neck chain: One thin gold or silver chain, with or without a small pendant, worn under the shirt.
Hair
- Student’s hair is expected to be neat and clean
- Shoulder length hair or longer must be tied back
- Extreme hairstyles in cut, style or colour are not Bright, lurid rinses and bleaches are also not permitted
Not Allowed
- Anklets
- Nail polish or false nails
- Make-up or false eyelashes
- Visible tattoos
- Beanies, legwarmers, scarves, gloves
If a student is required to wear an accessory for religious, cultural or health reasons, please contact the school principal.
FORMAL UNIFORM
Shirt | SSC white shirt with collar (logo on pocket) |
Blouse | SSC white blouse with logo on pocket |
Shorts | SSC grey shorts – knee length SSC navy blue shorts (female) |
Skirt | SSC bottle green tartan skirt. Skirt length should be at the knee or no more than 5 cms (three fingers width) above the knee. Skirt waist band should worn flat (not rolled) |
Socks | White, black or grey crew or ankle length socks (NO markings) |
Shoes | Black leather-style lace-up school shoes (for WHS in Workshop, Science, etc.) NB: Netted joggers, skate or canvas shoes, high tops or ankle boots are not permitted |
OTHER UNIFORM
Hat | SSC green cap or bucket hat |
Jacket | SSC zip fleece jacket with school logo SSC rain jacket with school logo |
Jumper | Knitted V- neck jumper with school logo |
Long pants | SSC grey long pants for males SSC navy long pants for females |
Tights/stockings | Black opaque tights are permitted under skirt during colder months NB: Leg warmers not permitted |
Undershirt | A plain white singlet, short or long-sleeved t-shirt can be worn underneath the school shirt (no markings) |
SPORTS UNIFORM
Sports Polo | SSC polo shirt with collar |
Sports Shorts Green | SSC bottle green basketball or soccer style shorts Short waist band should be worn flat (not rolled) |
Track pants | SSC green track pants or plain bottle green track pants (NO markings) |
Sports Shoes | Quality joggers with cushioning of the sole of the foot and good ankle support is our requirement. The laces must be done up on top of the tongue of the shoe. NB: skate shoes, flat thin rubber-soled shoes, and flat sneakers are not permitted as they do not offer support for sporting activities. NB: There are no colour requirements for sports shoes |
Socks | White, grey or black socks. Ankle or crew length. Plain with NO markings |
